Make it a SSI OS
Created by: ghost
You say that it's a NextGen OS, so why don't you make it a single system image (SSI) OS? Currently, there's no OS which officialy support SSI, so Redox could lead the future.
Advantages:
- See http://www.cloudbus.org/papers/SSI-CCWhitePaper.pdf for more advantages.
- Easier making high-performance clusters: Let's say that you want to train a very large deep neural network accross many computers each with many GPUs. Usually, you'd use something similar to a master-slave model, where there's a server in each computer, which recieves orders and execute it then return the result. You'd have to make client & server beside the work on your research, which is hard for small research teams (I don't know. I've never tried to run a very large deep neural network model. I hadn't started research yet). But with single system image, you'd just install Redox in all the connected machines, then run your model like any program without having to make special programs. For example, I & a friend of mine can make a cluster of our 2 laptops to run the model.
- Saving & efficient use of resources. Imagine what you could achieve with a SSI cluster of 2 computers and multiseat.
