Filesystem directory layout
Created by: ERnsTL
Greetings, I am opening this issue to gather ideas and discussion on filesystem directory layout.
As first starting point of discussion, I suggest to not simply copy directory hierarchies and duplication like /bin
, /usr/bin
, /sbin/
, /usr/sbin
, /usr/local/sbin
, /opt/bin
etc. without considering why they came into place. As a prominent example, OSX is doing well without them and so can Redox.
So, if possible, in Redox please provide one place for binaries, one for libraries, one for settings files, user files, temporary files etc.
