[meta] rusttype maintainer needed

Update apr-2021

rusttype requires a new active maintainer. I personally don't plan on making any new releases since I no longer use the crate.

Original message apr-2020

The 0.9 release brought with .otf support along with API changes. These API changes were about the smallest I could manage in order to transition to ttf-parser & get .otf support.

However, while making the transition I've noticed fundamental failings with the rusttype API that affect ergonomics and performance negatively. This is particularly true for, but not exclusive to, .otf fonts.

Because of this I'm going to work on an entirely new API (crate ab_glyph) that will address these issues.

So this means I have no grand plans for the rusttype API and will become more of a passive maintainer.
