I updated the README to include instructions on how to build the project.

On the statusbar I noticed that there were some String clones going on that did not have to occur. I am not sure if my solution is elegant, but I'm making a PR anyway in case it helps.

I am not familiar with the project, but it seemed that there were copies of all the files in an organized flat folder. I removed them since they did not seem to be needed.
